Located in Baldwin County, Fairhope is an Alabama city made up of about 15,000 individuals. The city is situated on a sloping plateau on the eastern side of Mobile Bay. Fairhope serves as the principal city of the Daphne-Fairhope-Foley Micropolitan Area. The city was named the second best small town in the south by Southern Living magazine in 2007.

Fairhope was founded in the fall of 1894 as a model community by the Fairhope Industrial Association. The association was made up of 28 individuals who followed Henry George. The purpose of the association was to establish a model community that was free from all forms of private monopolization. Fairhope continued to grow and eventually became a popular destination spot for people seeking to escape harsh winters in the northern portion of the United States.

Fairhope has many features and activities that individuals will find attractive. The Fairhope Museum of History will be of particular interest to history enthusiasts. The museum explores Fairhope’s history and features many exciting exhibits. Individuals who love the water and seafood will not want to miss out on Fairhope’s annual Jubilee. The event provides the opportunity to gig for hundreds of flounder, crab, and shrimp.

Temperatures tend to remain in the 60s during the day and often do not dip below freezing at night. Despite Fairhope’s mild climate, individuals will want to invest in a heat pump or furnace since cold snaps are always possible.
